IBS Masters athletes have, for many years, been a strong contingent when it comes to State titles, and this weekend will be no different. Although some of our men are missing due to injuries etc, the team overall is a good one and will carry the flag proudly when they take on the best in the State this weekend at Homebush. A noticeable absentee will be all rounder June Lowe, who due to illness and surgery will not take part, but people like Gianna Mogentale, Mary Thomas, Lynda Douglas, Rina Flynn, Sarah Guevara, Sarah Doran, Annette Mead and Heidi Smith will head up a strong team of female athletes.
John Lamb and Mick Daly will be a force in the men’s sprints and hurdles.
Mary Thomas, Gianna Mogentale, June Lowe and Lynda Douglas have also been nominated for major awards that will take place at the Masters Presentation on Saturday evening. We wish them well in the respective sections they have been nominated for.
