Our popular Illawarra Track Challenge, scheduled for 10 January 2026, had been postponed due to the extreme heatwave affecting the Illawarra region.
While we regret the need for this decision, the policies of ANSW and Illawarra Blue Stars, along with our shared commitment to safety, left us with no alternative. With temperatures ranging from 38 to 41 degrees, conditions were unsafe for athletes, officials, supporters, and spectators. It became a significant health concern, and the wellbeing of all involved must always come first

The event has now been rescheduled to Saturday, 28 February 2026.
We will need as much support as possible—officials, volunteers, and athletes. This is our event, and we take great pride in its organisation, presentation, and the support we provide to our sponsors, who in turn support our athletes.
Please consider volunteering your time. This event is one we all enjoy, offering our athletes the chance to compete against top talent from other clubs and bringing a showcase of high‑quality athletics to the Gong.
