2017 to be "full on” and Santa may pay us a visit on Sunday

Athletes of Illawarra Blue Stars will have a “full on” second part of the season, leading into all major meets.

The club has had a good first part of the season and will now head into 2017 full of confidence for the club members.

Firstly, members will be treated to the annual Skins competition to be held next Sunday at 2.00 pm in conjunction with the club’s Christmas Break up Barbecue.  The skins will be conducted in age groups, male and female and athletes are reminded to come prepared for competition although asked to also wear festive outfits.  This will be a great way to farewell the first part of the season and welcome in the second half, which will be full of action.

Blue Stars are pleased to announce that the Annual Illawarra Track Challenge (formerly the Illawarra Track Classic) will be held on Saturday 14 January 2017 and this is a meet that highlights athletics down here on the coast.  It is expected that a number of top line athletes will make the trip to contest the popular NSW Championships over 60m and the State 1 Mile Championship, but many will also contest the supporting events that will be on the program.  Masters athletes will be competing for the Blue Star titles over the 60m with awards to be given.  Check ANSW web site for upcoming information and all entries will go through the governing body.
