Athletes will move back to cross country next Sunday when the final round of the club’s winter cross country will be conducted at the Fairy Meadow Surf Club. Commencing at 10.00 am athletes will be vying for the positions of male short and long course and male and female long and short course point score.
The cross country has proven to be a big success with courses of varying terrain and giving athletes the opportunity of competing on such courses as the hilly, tough Minnamurra and Mt Kembla courses, to the beach run at Wollongong City Beach. This has been backed with a fast, Wisemans Park course along with the cycle way course outside of Beaton Park. The popular Sandon Point run is a combination of sand, hills and cycle way and is a course that offers everything to the athlete. Athletes are reminded to be there for a 10.00 am commencement.
Our thanks go to Rebecca Dos Santos for co-ordinating the cross country, and to her helpers, Kaitlyn Neto, Chris Thurbon and York Yu.
