Meanwhile, some of the club’s athletes are using Park Runs for great cross country preparation but President of Blue Stars, Geoff Hynoski has chosen a run that is a little different. Setting a great example to his club members, Geoff has been taking part in the Park runs but last weekend saw him take part in Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon supporting events, the Ted English Bolt over 6km and the Mystery Mountain Dash. Never to forgo a challenge, Geoff did well in both events, but not only handled the two events “with a difference” very well, but also had to contend with the harsh wintery weather. Conducted at Newnes, just outside of Lithgow, the event saw people of all abilities and people keen to test themselves against the terrain of the mountain and the slippery mountain trails. Geoff competed well and came home with 1st in the men’s Ted English Bolt, and was among the leading athletes in the mystery mountain Dash, an event that saw athletes take off and climb the gradient straight away to the top.
