Sun leads us into Summer

The sun is shining and we are heading for a great summer of track and field.   There are many events on at the moment, catering for a broad spectrum of people, but the major events IBS are very keen on are the Treloar Shield and the Pan Pacs for the Masters.

Great to see our athletes take advantage of the Treloar Shield especially if they cannot make it to club on the Sunday.  Eve Wray ventured out to Campbelltown this week and took part in the 400m whilst Ashlyn Adams took on her hurdles in her division and then backed this up with a run over the 100m. Cameron Chisolm also took part in the Open men’s 100m and was placed a creditable 15th out of 79 athletes.  Conditions play an important role in an athlete’s performance and it is hard to judge athletes’ times unless it is in similar circumstances.  Competing on a regular basis at this time of the season gives all athletes a guide as to where they are at, leading into major meets commencing in January 2019.
