Winter is upon us, and with the summer drawing to a close with the National titles, many are now gearing for a short break and then into the winter cross country and winter track and field program. Blue Stars will present an exciting winter program with the first cross country meet to be held on the Fairy Meadow course, meeting at the Gazebo at Fairy Meadow Beach. This is possibly one of the easiest courses, and with distances over 2.5 km and 5 km, it gives the athletes the opportunity to ease into this winter program. Open to all athletes, all ability and all ages, athletes are asked to be at the venue for a 10.00 am start commencing Sunday 16 May.

This will be followed by the first round of Track and Field meet to be held at the Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre on Sunday 23 May, commencing time being 10.30 am for the first event. These winter track meets will be held over a 4 series competition, and is open to any athletes, once again of any ability and any age. Come along and see how you like the sport of track and field with events in first round of 60 m, 150 m, shot put, walk, long jump, plus javelin for U18, U20, open and masters as an additional event. If time permits there will also be a 2 x 200 m relay.

It will be a morning of track and field, but cross country will be offering some fabulous courses to test athletes with their fitness, endurance and just enjoying the runs over some terrific courses.
